The name “Clock & Corbel” that I created for my online home decor store in 2021 has changed, and I am excited!
Just a little background - over the last few months, another business entity started using the Clock and Corbel name. I messaged them, letting them know that they were using my existing shop brand name, and asked that they not use my brand name and choose a different one as I was concerned our businesses would be mistaken online for each other. Their wish was that we both independently use the same name, and they felt that their business was different enough from mine to justify their use of it online and as a physical store. As their business seemed to be looking to be a retail shop selling home decor, I wasn't convinced that there was enough of a difference between our two businesses, and so, after much contemplation, I graciously decided to create a new name for my shop.
I love my followers, my viewers, my subscribers, and my customers. I want my online shop name to stand independently, be trusted, and be known for the great customer service I strive for, the fun and unique items I curate, the prompt shipping, and the care and personal touches that go into the packaging of every order that I send out. So out of loving care for those that trust me & my online gift shop, I decided to make the change to my shop’s brand name to make it distinguishable from the other business.
I am actually quite happy and excited about this new change as I feel the new brand name I created fits my business even better than the first. And though the Clock & Corbel shop name has been shared online under my name for years, the Clock & Corbel name will not further be used in association with my shop or Christopher Hiedeman name, and I’m excited to announce that the new brand name for my online shop will be Clock and Quill! (Cue confetti cannons)
There are so many things I love about the new name! As you all know, I love to do many creative things. I love to decorate, I love making art, and, I love to write! This new name I feel goes well with my brand as it symbolizes the idea of nostalgia, timeless designs and decorations, and gives a nod to the part of my online shop that offers the books that I have written. A quill is such a wonderful vintage tool that just gives the feel of possibilities. It can create art, it can design, it can communicate, and of course, it can share stories!
